About this site

This site publishes free retirement calculators and worked examples. It is built and reviewed by Hommer Zhao, who builds web tools. Hommer is not a licensed financial adviser, planner, tax professional or actuary, and nothing here is personal financial advice.

What the tools are for

To make the arithmetic of retirement saving and spending visible: how long a pot of money lasts under assumptions you choose, and why the order of returns matters. Each tool lists its assumptions, and the methodology page shows the formulas.

How results are checked

When a formula or a page changes, the headline numbers on it are recomputed independently outside the site's own code and compared with what the page shows. If you find a result that does not match your own spreadsheet, send the inputs to the contact page address; confirmed errors are corrected on the page and the page's methodology note.

What they are not

They do not predict markets, optimise taxes, or recommend investments. For decisions that matter, speak to a qualified, licensed professional.
